Marriage

It hasn't been easy watching the Tweets roll in and news headlines flooded with rainbow images and tag lines such as "Love Wins." It breaks my heart to see so many people, so deceived. May God open all of our eyes to truly know how much He loves us and if we repent and turn to Him, we can receive new life, be born again. John 3. Forgive them Lord for they know not, what they do.
I write this, not as an attack against anyone, but since the other "community" is able to share openly their excitement about changing laws regarding marriage, then it only makes sense for us Christians to celebrate God's True marriage, a man and a woman. It's is clear by design. I am not into puzzles, but His design is a puzzle that fits perfectly together. Without His perfect design, procreation alone would not be possible.

When I was a candidate for the Family Coalition Party about twenty years ago, the same sex marriage battle was coming into the forefront. One of our main causes was to take a stand to protect all human life and to support God's design for marriage, a man and a woman.  One evening after an all candidates debate, I was  asked by an audience member about how could we call ourselves  Christians, if we speak against homosexuality? My response was the same one I would give now, as Christians we love all people, including our enemies. We love the sinner (we are all sinners by the way, born that way - look back to Genesis for the details), but we don't love the sin.
We can't support any sin, that includes my own. I sin daily, whether it is a wrong attitude or thought or action, only by the power of the Holy Spirit living in me, can I do anything right.
Our God is a Holy God, and yes He loves us all but he also has standards and rules. He made a way for us to be presentable to Him, through His Son. He is there for all of us to choose to believe in. I didn't always follow Him, I was living only for myself for a long time. I still do battle with my "self." It gets in the way all the time.
It may not make sense to hear that as a Christian, I love those who sin (meaning all people) but I can't endorse sin itself. It only makes sense if taken in context with God's Words. He offers forgiveness, because of Jesus Christ's shed blood on our behalf did. If it wasn't for Him, I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be writing this.

Some believe Christians think they are without sin, well, it isn't true. In fact the Bible says this about that claim.. [1Jo 1:8-10 KJV] 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
[Isa 64:6 KJV] 6 But we are all as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses [are] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Jesus pointed out clearly that we can not keep the law on our own, He told us that if we hate someone, we are guilty of murder, if we look at someone with a lustful eye, we are guilty of adultery, even if we didn't lay a hand on anyone. His point was clear, that the attitude of our heart is just as important as our actions.
[Mat 5:21-23, 27-30 KJV] 21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; ... 27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.

So as the news headlines ring out about the American Supreme court's ruling and as the rainbows flood all media taking on a meaning that they never were intended to, I felt it was important, in honour of God, Who made us, Who owns us and Loves us more than we will ever understand, to share what true marriage is no matter what the government or others want to believe or declare.   [Gen 2:21-25 KJV] 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and
he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

God's Rainbow
No matter how much the rainbow is being used as a symbol contrary to God's meaning. For anyone who wants to know, the rainbow or "bow" in Genesis 9:16 was set to be a reminder to God about His covenant between Him and all of His living creatures, that includes us. So again, no matter what others may be trying to do to alter God's Words, they can never change what God's Word really means. When I see a beautiful rainbow in the sky or at any time, I smile and know it is God's message about His love for us, period.
[Gen 9:16 KJV] 16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that [is] upon the earth.
Hebrew lexicon definition:
qesheth
  1. bow
    1. bow (for hunting, battle)
    2. bowmen, archers
    3. bow (fig. of might)
    4. rainbow

So just as the supporters of this other kind of marriage wave their banners, I just want to not be a couch potato, saying nothing as His Heart weep and stand up and wave God's Word in love. No matter what anyone believes, He is real and True. It so cool that even when I believe lies or false things, what God says is True anyway. Nothing I can bend or twist to suit my own fancy can change His Truth. Nothing. Thank You God for that! Please help us God to see with Your eyes and to understand.

God Cares...

Ever worry? As believers one of the most reassuring thing we need to learn is that our God is dependable. He cares for us in all ways. For myself, because I live with a physical disability, I often struggle with worrying. Worrying about something like,  how will I be able to hire a new Personal Care Attendant if the one I have resigns? How will I be able to get out of or into bed? Oh no, what if this so what if that? I am sure we all have certain areas in life that we may struggle with. If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour then join us in reminding ourselves, that God cares for all of our needs. It may not always look the way we want it to, but we must trust that He knows us and knows just what we need and when we need it. We are called to cast our cares, burdens, anxieties onto Him, for He cares for us. We are told to pray without ceasing, to make our requests known to Him. Most of all, Thanking God in all situations, not just when things are going the way we want them to. We have testimony after testimony of God's provision. When things look impossible, that is when amazing things happen.

I wanted to share one of the many blessings that God provided for my husband. Recently, after a long wait and praying for help, my husband was blessed with being able to purchase Quickie Power Assist wheels called Xtender. Because he has been using a wheelchair for a lot of years, his shoulders have been damaged and moving his "legs" (wheels) increases that damage. We thank God for His many blessings and want to encourage anyone who may have similar issues, to consider these wheels if you need them. Make your requests known to God and if it is His will, you will receive the assistance you need some how.

Here is one of my favourite passages to remind me about how much God cares about us.

[Matthew 6:25-34 KJV] 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof.
